Stumbling On Gold: Posting On IG From My Laptop #eXbdd #tutorial #authorlife

Hi! As an author, one of the tasks I have to face is to have an online presence. This is easily done, thanks to free apps that actually work: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumbler, just to name the more important ones. Having this internet presence can be satisfying, and a whole lot of frustrating. Especially for those, points to self, who constantly struggles juggling real life with author life, and the time-consuming duties of posting online. Which brings us to the subject at hand. Instagram. I love it, but I don't like it.

It's easy enough to take a picture using my phone or tablet and uploading these on IG. My problem comes in when I want to post my books or sale or giveaway, and I have to create or grab the graphics from my computer, upload it into my phone, and THEN! post it using my tablet or phone. Too many steps. Too much drama. So I'll just stick to posting only once in a while on my IG, or just post a nice update on my FB and hope it syncs with IG.
Imagine my delighted surprise, when I stumbled on something truly golden: the ability to post on IG from my laptop. I wanted to share this with my fellow eXtasy Books/Divine Destinies authors because I know, we all know, THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!

If you've made it this far, read on ahead.

Here are the steps in words and images. Enjoy, peeps!

1. Open your IG page on your laptop. Obvs, I'm using mine.

2. Right-click on your cursor anywhere on the screen.

I've highlighted INSPECT element. Click on it.

3. Voila. The magic begins. This page opens and we are now almost there.

4. Look at that icon. You should click on it.

5. This pops up. Not much different?

REFRESH your page, please.

6. See? Click on that + icon. You will see your regular cursor morph into a round shadow.  A window for your files will pop up. Grab any image file you had previously downloaded or created.

7. I've taken the initiative to grab my file. This part is self-explanatory.

8. Now that the image you want to post is uploaded, click NEXT. Just like usual. This window will pop up. You can now write your message.

Post successful! Starring Denise Wheatley! Follow her on Instagram

YAY!👏👏👏

Note: if you want to do more edits like sharing into other platforms, you can go to your tablet or phone and do it from there.

Notex2 YES PLEASE!

How? I simply exited that panel window where the html was.

Of course, to get this on to your home screen, you make sure you install IG on your laptop.
Now, you can go ahead and post from your laptop.
