ANZAC DAY #SALE! Going On at Wayward Ink Publishing and at All Romance Books 24-26-APRIL-2016! 50% OFF EVERYTHING – INCLUDING COMING SOON TITLES

THE MEANING AND IMPORTANCE OF ANZAC DAY TO AUSTRALIANS AND NEW ZEALANDERS

ANZAC DAY is a national day of remembrance observed on 25 April each year in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served.”

Anzac Day was originally intended to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli against the Ottoman Empire during the first World War.

Over time, however, Anzac Day has grown beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day on which we remember all Australians who served and died in war and on operational service. The spirit of Anzac, with its qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity.

Reblogged: Eloreen Moon Reviews: ‘Compelled’ by Jo Tannah #LGBT #Review #SciFi #Short

Eloreen reviews ‘Compelled’ by Jo Tannah. This book was published by eXtasy Books on April 1st, 2016 and is about 42 pages long.

I love science fiction as well as fantasy and needed recommendations from our backlist of books to review. Marc suggested “Compelled” as a short novella for the 2-4-1 theme week, where we review two (or more) shorts or novellas with less than 150 pages in the same week. I really enjoyed it and I’m glad I got the chance to find a new author.

Blurb:

Do you believe in dreams? That’s how I found Ryan. Unfortunately, I could not be with him then, not until he took that final leap of faith. You see, I come from a distant star and coming from another planet is problematic. Coming from a planet where the atmosphere is different from Earth makes it even more complicated.
Despite my father’s caution, I went to Earth. I was compelled because of my love for Ryan. I wanted him to come home with me but he would have to suffer through the change to survive. I wanted to be with him on Earth but its atmosphere is toxic to my kind.
I was caught between two different worlds and longed for at least one more hour on that planet so I could be with Ryan. What I wouldn’t give, just to feel his skin against mine, to taste his lips on my mouth. What I wouldn’t give, just to get lost in his embrace once more.
I am Q’lan. This is our story. It is not long but it was difficult. I am glad that I can tell it now with Ryan in my arms.
In my embrace.
In my life.

Review

For such a short story, it read and felt like a longer one.

As suggested in the blurb, it is a happily ever after, but the journey was indeed difficult for Ryan and Q’lan.

Q’lan never gave up his faith in his mate, and I’m glad to have read about their bonding.

It’s hard to not describe anything as I don’t want to give the story away. They do have brief sex scenes but you’ll understand why once you read it.

I really would like to know more about them and their universe. I enjoy detailed descriptions of new worlds and it would have been great to have learned more about Q’lan’s world, had the story been longer. However, the descriptions were enough to understand the differences between the humans and Q’lan’s people.

I read the blurb for this story, and was reminded of my own ideas that have lain dormant. I love that this story is available and perhaps it will get me to dust off my own writings and see where it takes me.:)

So, thank you, Jo. This is a great inspiration.

With this, I give Compelled 9/10 Pots of Gold.

Hidden: Evils Coming Sooner Than Expected

So I went off for a bit of vacation and in the departure lounge I received this email from Wayward Ink Publishing with a release date for Hidden: Evils. I panicked!

Mind you, Hidden: Evils is that book in the long lost journal and to be honest, it was a work I never expected anyone to take a chance on or even get published. It is a work I started almost six years ago and waiting all this time meant it was kind of a long shot. Imagine my surprise when I get word it was getting out there, in your hands while I was out on vacation.

Note: I am still promoting my eXtasy Release: Compelled, my science fiction short. I was still in the middle of making plans for what to shop, where to go, where to have fun, when this information sent me on a tailspin. It was unexpected and I panicked.

The good news is, Lily Velden, WIPs CEO told me to stop and take a deep breath. She asked what I wanted to do. Basically, I grovelled and knelt on my virtual knees to please push the release back.

I know! I know! I'm crazy, right?

But no, I think I made the right decision.

Hidden: Evils has been a long time in the works and pushing back the date meant I could have more time to deal with the worst of author problems: marketing. I feel this one needs more time to prepare with and thankfully, WIP is the type of publisher that provide the marketing ad pack not expected in others. Which means, I can sit down a bit and relax while I have to deal with the more menial task of asking bloggers, reviewers and promoters to get the book out there.

Title: Hidden: Evils
Expected Date of Publication: May 19, 2016
Cover Reveal Date: May 12, 2016
Publisher: Wayward Ink Publishing
Genre: MM, romance, erotic, urban legend, fantasy, paranormal

Sebastian Torres is a healer and midwife both by trade and by calling. He’s spent the past three years as the only male midwife in a local hospital.
Anthony Craig is intrigued by Sebastian, finding him professional and attractive;although, he can’t help wondering why Sebastian never dates the same man twice.
When several pregnant women diein maternity wards a few states away, their fetuses missing, the police are baffled at the strange circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Could there be a serial killer on the loose?
As the number of deaths escalates, Sebastian suspects a monster of legend, rather than one of the human variety, is responsible.
Sebastian knows he is the only thing standing in the monster’s way, but in order to save innocent lives he must reveal his secret to Anthony.
Will Sebastian’s revelation prove too much and drive Anthony away?

Someone asked me recently about what tales my father and nannies told that would keep children, me, to the right. That someone asked because all anyone has seen of my works have been sci-fi and contemporary romances. Well, folks, this is the one side of me you'll see more of, the paranormal writer. These stories are erotic and horrifying, as most of the local lore, myths and urban legends from my country. These are stories meant to horrify the children and yet we day in, day out live them. People here truly believe in the supernatural. This is the first of a series of paranormal stories based on local lore I will be penning. It's difficult for most of them, except one or two, almost always involve cannibalism. We have giants and vampires and all sorts of evil animals which I am currently working on other than the sci-fi/fantasy. You'll see more of these works coming from me because I feel more comfortable writing them and I work faster their images in my mind. Of course I will never give up on the contemporary stories. I hope. I think.

Hope you enjoy this one.

this makes me so happy :D 5 Hearts from mmgoodbooksreview for The Way You Look Tonight

From Reviewer: Lisa

Review:

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I have to say it was a blast. I wasn’t really sure at first if I was going to like it, but damn it sure does get better. It is told from Jamie’s perspective and that was the part that I was not sure about. I am not one to normally like those types of books, but this one was a hit for me.

Jaime is from a very wealthy family and loved by his father. When things go down in the family his father does everything to protect his son. Jaime had wanted to be a doctor and he was damn good at it. Then his father was accused of fraud and things go to pieces. His father is determined to clear his name and make a life for his son. Jaime had just not expected to be sent to another country altogether.

He takes one look at the residency doctor and is fascinated with him. It would seem that the attraction is returned. Miles wants Jaime just as much.

There is a lot of action in this story, with a bit of mystery and suspense. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and look forward to seeing what other stories this author has out there. I can’t wait to read the next story.

This was a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it.
