It's so funny how the brain works.

 

The blank wall of writer's block prevented any imagination for the longest time. What usually would take 2 or 3 weeks to finish, took more than 2 years. After The Crown and the Sword was released, illness and medication took care of whatever unfenced brain cells were left and caged them in.

Now that I've physically stabilized, the fences fell, words were released and they are coming fast and furious, it's hard to catch up.

On the verge of finishing the draft for this current WIP, a weird story came to mind.

Too fast. Too much. I had to use Word Dictate to get the words out.

So expect the following on the road to submission to eXtasy Books:

Update on The Champion: Rise of the Symbionts, Vol. II

 

I am nearing the end of this particular installment. Only 3 more chapters to go on the draft version. This means about another 15k+/- words left before The End, For Now, is written...this is the first of Vol II.

My not-so-nice news: because I had waited too long to finish this story, THE CHAMPION as a title is no longer viable. I have a policy of unique titles, and I lost my chance. 

That means, if I put up the final version, it won't be THE CHAMPION, but something else. I have given myself a deadline to submit by next week, Thursday...not even the weekend...so I will be working hard.

This is also the reason why I have not updated Taboo Plans and All over on my FACEBOOK PAGE. As soon as I have submitted it, I will update Tris and Zach's story there. Do watch out for it.

I also have to insert several erotic scenes into (now formerly titled) The Champion...but that's the least of my worries. Coming up with a new title will be a tough one.

Point of Interest:

I wrote Rise of the Symbionts about three years ago and had submitted and been sat on until my previous publisher closed down. I had to find a home for them and then eXtasy Books said, come on over. I thank everyone in eXtasy Books, from the bottom of my heart, for giving Lando and Kallen, and the symbionts, a home.

Now, here's the thing. When I wrote these first three books, I had them prepped as short stories, which is the reason why you're seeing them in this format. I expanded them to make more sense, but I kept to the format. 

I started writing Volume II last year when I still had no idea my former publisher was going to fold. I'm almost done with Book IV, The Champion, and have plotted out Books V and VI. These three will make up the Technomage Wars which had been simmering in the background of Rise of the Symbionts. This next trilogy will focus on the remaining Hobiks, The Champion, The Lore Keeper and The Royal Five. The men and their symbionts will have their own stories and will continue the Symbionts of Oryon arc.

What is Hegira?

This is the definition according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Hegira : an exodus or migration. noun: hegira; plural noun: hegiras

I wrote this piece for fun, a what if these things happen as I was watching CNN. I won't explain further, only I did this sometime October or November of 2015. When my old publisher put out a call for a sci-fi anthology, I tweaked this little story and submitted sometime June or was it July? I'm no longer certain, but then it didn't get published. The anthology never came about. When I got my rights back to my stories, this was one of them. I hadn't read this since I'd submitted it, and when I finally did, I got scared of what I had written. 

No, this is not horror, not like The Hunt. This one's far scarier for me. And I wrote it.
