How To Read My Stories So No One Freaks Out

I've been asked a lot about my books, especially the series ones. I have several. The common question is why I write the way I do. I fin...

Hidden: Evils Coming Sooner Than Expected

So I went off for a bit of vacation and in the departure lounge I received this email from Wayward Ink Publishing with a release date for Hidden: Evils. I panicked!

Mind you, Hidden: Evils is that book in the long lost journal and to be honest, it was a work I never expected anyone to take a chance on or even get published. It is a work I started almost six years ago and waiting all this time meant it was kind of a long shot. Imagine my surprise when I get word it was getting out there, in your hands while I was out on vacation.

Note: I am still promoting my eXtasy Release: Compelled, my science fiction short. I was still in the middle of making plans for what to shop, where to go, where to have fun, when this information sent me on a tailspin. It was unexpected and I panicked.

The good news is, Lily Velden, WIPs CEO told me to stop and take a deep breath. She asked what I wanted to do. Basically, I grovelled and knelt on my virtual knees to please push the release back.

I know! I know! I'm crazy, right?

But no, I think I made the right decision.

Hidden: Evils has been a long time in the works and pushing back the date meant I could have more time to deal with the worst of author problems: marketing. I feel this one needs more time to prepare with and thankfully, WIP is the type of publisher that provide the marketing ad pack not expected in others. Which means, I can sit down a bit and relax while I have to deal with the more menial task of asking bloggers, reviewers and promoters to get the book out there.

Will Sebastian’s revelation prove too much and drive Anthony away?

Someone asked me recently about what tales my father and nannies told that would keep children, me, to the right. That someone asked because all anyone has seen of my works have been sci-fi and contemporary romances. Well, folks, this is the one side of me you'll see more of, the paranormal writer. These stories are erotic and horrifying, as most of the local lore, myths and urban legends from my country. These are stories meant to horrify the children and yet we day in, day out live them. People here truly believe in the supernatural. This is the first of a series of paranormal stories based on local lore I will be penning. It's difficult for most of them, except one or two, almost always involve cannibalism. We have giants and vampires and all sorts of evil animals which I am currently working on other than the sci-fi/fantasy. You'll see more of these works coming from me because I feel more comfortable writing them and I work faster their images in my mind. Of course I will never give up on the contemporary stories. I hope. I think.

Hope you enjoy this one.

this makes me so happy :D 5 Hearts from mmgoodbooksreview for The Way You Look Tonight

Review:

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I have to say it was a blast. I wasn’t really sure at first if I was going to like it, but damn it sure does get better. It is told from Jamie’s perspective and that was the part that I was not sure about. I am not one to normally like those types of books, but this one was a hit for me.

Jaime is from a very wealthy family and loved by his father. When things go down in the family his father does everything to protect his son. Jaime had wanted to be a doctor and he was damn good at it. Then his father was accused of fraud and things go to pieces. His father is determined to clear his name and make a life for his son. Jaime had just not expected to be sent to another country altogether.

He takes one look at the residency doctor and is fascinated with him. It would seem that the attraction is returned. Miles wants Jaime just as much.

There is a lot of action in this story, with a bit of mystery and suspense. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and look forward to seeing what other stories this author has out there. I can’t wait to read the next story.

This was a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it.

What he would give to be lost in love’s embrace. Do you believe in dreams? That’s how I found Ryan. Unfortunately, I could not be with him then, not until he took that final leap of faith. You see, I come from a distant star and coming from another planet is problematic. Coming from a planet where the atmosphere is different from Earth makes it even more complicated. Despite my father’s caution, I went to Earth. I was compelled because of my love for Ryan. I wanted him to come home with me but he would have to suffer through the change to survive. I wanted to be with him on Earth but its atmosphere is toxic to my kind. I was caught between two different worlds and longed for at least one more hour on that planet so I could be with Ryan. What I wouldn’t give, just to feel his skin against mine, to taste his lips on my mouth. What I wouldn’t give, just to get lost in his embrace once more. I am Q’lan. This is our story. It is not long but it was difficult. I am glad that I can tell it now with Ryan in my arms. In my embrace. In my life.

R.I.P. Snowball

For two years they kept you in a cage
They finally set you free by tying you by my door, leaving you for dead
Six months I hand fed you, made sure your food was soft enough to chew on
Six months I made sure your muscles worked, taught you how to walk again and finally to run free
You ran like the wind, my little ball of fur
Trusting no one but me
As suddenly as you came into my life, you leave me
Twelve years you ruled this house
You were a true white alpha bitch
The larger dogs cowered at your presence
You trusted no one but me
You extended the trust to the girls
Made sure the man fed you bread every morning as the breakfast you deserved
Twelve years you gave your unconditional love and protected the house
You trusted me enough to know when to let go
Love you my little Snowball
Run free like the wind

Compelled is finally ready!

It's official!

My sci-fi novella, Compelled, is scheduled for release on April 1, 2016. No, it's not April Fool's, I refuse to acknowledge that :D

I know, I know, it was supposed to be out March 15th but we needed to make sure all was right before the final step and in the process, had to move to April. What matters is, it's finally ready!

I'm so excited about this one as it was actually my first attempt to writing a sci-fi even if Royal Guardian was published first. Compelled was written listening to an indie music that I love and it's lyrics served as inspiration, much like how my Standards Series were written. The lyrics are science fiction lamenting about star crossed lovers who were trapped on their separate planets and the only way to be together was to die and join each other in spirit. Well, I don't like death so I twisted it for a dimensional leap where my men can be truly together and spite all the odds.
